TOM CURTIS

Position: Central defender
Date of birth: March 1st, 1973
Joined Alfreton Town: June 1st, 2008
Another highly consistent performer now in his second season with Alfreton having moved to the Impact Arena from Nuneaton Borough whom he captained during the 2007/08 campaign.
His busy non-stop style in midfield was a key feature of the Reds reaching the play-offs for the first time ever last season.
A vastly experienced player, he is a former Chesterfield team mate of Alfreton manager Nicky Law and the pair were part of the successful Spireites team which won promotion to the old Division Two via the play-offs in 1994/95.
Tom had joined Nuneaton from Notts County after a career which began at Derby County and he went on to make over 300 appearances for Chesterfield before moving to Portsmouth for £50,000.
Loan spells with Walsall and Tranmere Rovers followed before he moved on to Mansfield Town, Chester City and then Notts County.
He currently coaches the first team at Loughborough University.
