ASSISTANT MANAGER
Date of birth: June 23rd, 1972
Joined Alfreton Town: May 14th, 2007
Very highly valued assistant to manager Nicky Law, Russ O’Neill is now in his third campaign with Alfreton Town.
His hard work over his first two years with the Reds was rewarded in the summer of 2009 with a two-year contract which keeps him at the Impact Arena to the end of the 2011/12 season.
Has an infectious enthusiasm for the game and a deep knowledge of it.
He arrived at Alfreton Town on May 14, 2007, having been part of a successful management trio at Buxton for two seasons.
As a midfield player he began with Everton under Howard Kendall where he had four years before having trials at both Sheffield United and Leeds United.
A knee injury ended his professional aspirations and after a short spell with Sheffield FC, he turned to management in Sunday League football.
Following a hugely successful 13-year spell he was asked by Nicky Law to join him at Buxton and then on to Alfreton where his his vast array of contacts in the non league game have come to the fore with several of the club's signings since he joined the club.
