NICKY LAW
MANAGER
Date of birth: September 8th, 1961
Joined Alfreton Town: May 14th 2007
The Reds manager is now in his third season with Alfreton Town and he signed a two-year extension to his contract in early May which will keep him at the Impact Arena to the end of the 2011/12 season.
His second year in charge, the 2008/09 campaign, was a triumph all round as he guided the club to a highest ever finishing position of third in Conference North, a major improvement on 16th in his first year with the club.
The third place brought a first ever appearance in the play-offs for the club, narrowly losing out in the semi-finals on aggregate.
Nicky also took the club to the second round proper of the FA Cup for the first time ever last season.
He was appointed on Monday, May 14, 2007, after resigning his post at Buxton the day before.
He had led the Bucks to promotion after winning the UniBond First Division title and also landing the President’s Cup which made it back to back promotions and three cup wins in his two seasons at the Silverlands.
A professional licence as well as UEFA A and B coaching licence holder, Law is the highest qualified manager ever to have taken charge of the Reds.
He has experience in abundance having also managed Grimsby Town, Bradford City and Chesterfield in the Football League, leading the latter to promotion from the old Third Division in the 2000/01 campaign.
He has also held player/coach roles at both Ilkeston Town and Stafford Rangers.
