Manager Nicky Law made three changes from the side which went down 4-1 at Lincoln City on January 7th and two of the players brought in scored.
Josh Law shot the Reds in front on 17 minutes and after the hosts had equalised through Kurtis Guthrie on 43 minutes, latest signing Shaun Harrad celebrated his debut for the club by notching the winner from the penalty spot on 57 minutes after Job Ayo Akinde had been fouled in the area by Connor Mclaren.
The win strengthened Alfreton's grip on a play-off place and they are now seven points clear of the chasing pack.
