Tonight: DSC - ATFC v Glossop North End

Tuesday Nov 6, 2018

Alfreton Town start their Derbyshire Senior Cup campaign at home to Glossop North End tonight, kick off is 7.45pm.

After Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Telford United; which was the Reds second league draw in succession, Alfreton turn their attention to tonight's first of two big cup clashes.

Saturday's game saw two red cards, one in each half for Dan Udoh and Reece Styche in what was a chance filled first half for the Reds. Ten men Telford struck in the second half thanks to Sutton's header which stunned Alfreton into action and we dragged ourselves back into the contest from the penalty spot as Jordan Sinnott converted.

Although it was two games unbeaten for the Reds which has ended a run of five league defeats in a row, it is a welcome return to points collation which give us confidence in the league in getting that elusive league win.

Tonight's cup tie brings an opportunity for fringe squad players, as well as the Development Team to stake a claim to Billy Heath for his future line-ups.

Glossop North End, who play in the Evo-Stik West Division, sit in 17th place in their league table. Glossop have nine points from 13 games and have won just twice in their domestic campaign so far.

The Hillmen squad will be looking to gain momentum following their first victory in seven games on Saturday, 2-0 against Market Drayton.

Glossop have won just twice on the road this season, once in the league at Radcliffe FC (1-2) and at Grantham Town in the Integro League Cup (0-6).

Adults £6, Concessions £3, Under 16s with paying adult £1.
