Ben Tomlinson hit a hat-trick as Alfreton Town recorded their biggest Blue Square Bet Premier Division league win of the season by thrashing Hyde FC 5-1 at the Impact Arena on Tuesday night.

The Reds striker pounced twice in the first 15 minutes to put the hosts in charge and then completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot on 47 minutes.

Paul Clayton added the fourth on 69 minutes before Hyde substitute Danny Broadbent cracked home a 79th minute reply.

Alfreton substitute Scott Boden ended the scoring when he rifled home his first goal for the club ten seconds from the end of three minutes of added time.

The win took the Reds up to 16th in the table, six points clear of the relegation places.

Alfreton are back in action on Saturday when they travel to take on FA Trophy finalists and league leaders Wrexham at the Racecourse.
ATFC Supporters' Association transport departs at 9.45am and seats can be booked via Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
