THE LAST WORD: NICKY LAW'S WREXHAM VERDICT

THE LAST WORD: NICKY LAW'S WREXHAM VERDICT

Sunday Mar 3, 2013

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law felt his side were well worth the point they gained in the 1-1 draw at league leaders Wrexham on Saturday.
The Reds boss reflected:
"I thought we contained them quite well - the pitch was rubbish. If I'm honest I didn't think there was a great deal between the two teams and felt quite comfortable all afternoon.

"A draw was probably a fair result. In three games against them this season we won comfortably at their place [FACup] and were unfortunate to lose at home. We've come here today and we've had to defend at times, but that's what you have to do in a game of football, but I thought we dealt with it quite well."

Asked about his decision to make three changes, Law explained: "It was just to top people up and give people games. The three left out [Law, Arnold & Clayton] have played nearly every game this season, and a rest does you good and that really was the thinking behind it.

"We've never had a big enough squad to rotate it, but now is as important a time as any when you've only got a squad of 17 players.

"Wrexham are top of the League, reached the FATrophy final and get big crowds and credit to our players today - they've come here and put up a performance against the League leaders."
