THE LAST WORD - LAW REFLECTS ON TAMWORTH GAME

THE LAST WORD - LAW REFLECTS ON TAMWORTH GAME

Sunday Mar 10, 2013

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law agreed that after the first half display at Tamworth he was disappointed that his team had not won.

"We should have been out of sight at half-time, but it was hard to get going second half.

"We had to do a lot of defending that was not really down to our own fault. I thought the referee gave them everything second half - absolutely everything.

"First half I thought we played well and he reffed it well, but come the second half every time we got the ball he gave foul after foul after foul - there was one occasion where their lad's kicked the ball out on the far side and the linesman 70 yards away has given it them and he's agreed.

"It's bemusing but one goal wasn't enough. They've had lots of free-kicks from distance and corners but had one attempt at goal and scored - we've had five or six and not punished them and that's the difference.

"That's what you do - when you win games you punish teams, but we've not done that again. It's a point away from home - another point on the board - we move on to Tuesday."
