THE FINAL WORD: A GAME OF TWO HALVES
Sunday Nov 25, 2012
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law spoke after the 3-1 FA Trophy defeat against Kidderminster Harriers. He reflected: "It was a game of two halves - first half we dominated it and I was disappointed with the first goal we conceded.
"We came out for the second half and for me we've not been brave enough and not made enough right decisions - the second goal is a needless corner we've given away - the third goal we're in their box appealing for a penalty and five seconds later we're 3-1 down.
"They put some resistance up against us and unfortunately today we've not stood up to it.
"We're disappointed with the defeat because it was another income stream, but the last thing to be fair that we needed was a replay on Tuesday night with another 90 minutes for players that have had such a heavy schedule."
Law confirmed that he relished the prospect of playing Leyton Orient in the FA Cup.
He ended: "We are going to have to play better than we did today, though - if we perform like we did in the first half we'll be okay, but if we perform like we did in the second ..................."
