TAMWORTH v ALFRETON TOWN PREVIEW
Friday Mar 8, 2013
SATURDAY, MARCH 9th, 2013, 3pm
Alfreton Town are in Blue Square Bet Premier Division action on Saturday when they make the relatively short trip to face Tamworth.
Reds boss Nicky Law is without injured goalkeeper Phil Barnes and the suspended Theo Streete for what is a first game of the season against the Lambs, with the return game scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th at the Impact Arena.
Law will be looking for his side to build on the last two very good results and take another stride towards securing their place at non league's top table for a third successive season. A seventh win on the road for the Reds would go a long way towards helping achieve that goal.
The Staffordshire side go into the game looking for a first league win in three outings and sit just one place and two points above the Reds having played the same amount of games. They have lost nine of their 18 home league games so far, winning a third of them and drawing three times on home soil.
Top scorer for Tamworth in the league, and indeed in the entire division so far this season is Adam Cunnington who has hit 17. Adam had a successful loan spell with the Reds at the the end of last season.
Former Aston Villa man Lee Hendrie misses the game through suspension. Scott Barrow, Peter Till and Lloyd Kerry will all miss the clash through injury. Richard Tait is fit again after injury and is added to the squad which went down 2-0 at Barrow last Saturday.
