THREE LATE GOALS PUT REDS THROUGH
Never-say-die Alfreton Town made it through to the third qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup after a dramatic late fight-back saw the Reds snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
The Reds trailed 2-0 with less than 15 minutes to go at Tamworth after goals from Elliott Durrell (34 minutes) and Danny Newton (75) had seemingly put the hosts - previously unbeaten all season - into Monday's draw for the next round.
However, a stunning rally saw goals from Jamie Jackson (77) and an 89th minute Jordan Robertson penalty get the visitors level before John Johnston crashed in a sensational winner from the edge of the area in the first minute of four of added time.
The celebrations were marred slightly when Johnston was red-carded following a rash challenge on Tamworth's Ezewele but it is Nicky Law's side who held out for a win which sparked joyous scenes of celebration between players and fans after the game and also brought a much-needed boost of £4,500 prize money and a place in Monday's draw.
