Alfreton Town face their third game in five days on Easter Monday when they travel to face relegation rivals Southport at Haig Avenue.

Successive defeats allied to other results over the past week have dragged Nicky Law's side into the relegation mix as they now sit two points above the drop zone with six to play.

Southport are one point and one place above the relegation places and one point behind the Reds in 17th place who have a game in hand.

Liam Watson's team ended a run of six straight defeats on Saturday when they drew 2-2 at Gateshead. It looked as if the Sandgrounders were all set for a vital victory as they opened up a two-goal lead in the second half but the Tynesiders netted on 90 minutes and again in added tme to snatch a point.

In the first meeting of the season way back on Tuesday, August 14th, the sides drew 3-3 at the Impact Arena. The referee that day was Mr Ben Toner from Darwen who is also the choice of official for the Easter Monday fixture in Lancashire.
