SECOND HOME GAME OF NEW YEAR AWAITS

Wednesday Jan 29, 2014

KIDS FOR A QUID AND CHEAP ADMISSION FOR 17-21 YEAR OLDS ON SATURDAY

Alfreton Town fans have plenty of reasons to be cheerful as they look forward to only a second league game on home turf in 2014 this Saturday.
Bottom-of-the-table Hyde FC are the visitors to the Impact Arena and younger supporters will once again be able to take advantage of reduced admission.
KIDS FOR A QUID
The fixture is a 'Kids for a Quid' game with both home and away fans aged 16 and under able to get into the game for just a pound so long as they are accompanied by an adult. And supporters aged between 17 and 21 can gain entry for just £5 each.
Normal admission apply prices for adults and senior citizen concessions but they can also save money if they book an Early Bird Match Ticket or a Group Saver Match Ticket (the latter available to groups of five fans or more).
These can be booked by contacting the ticket office on 01773 830277 up to the deadline of 3.30pm on Friday, January 31st).
The Reds have only played four times in January, the first being on New Year's Day when they beat Wrexham 1-0 at the Impact Arena.
All of the other three have been away, with the third and fourth games separated by an 18-day gap due to inactivity and the scheduled televised home game against Tamworth on January 16 being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Despite the disjointed start to the year, Nicky Law's side won 2-1 at Welling United last Saturday to ensure they are still sitting pretty in third place in the league and with 16 league games left, the scene is set for an exciting end to the campaign with perhaps as many as twelve teams vying for the four play-off places.
And home form may be one factor in Alfreton's favour during the run in. The Reds have been in terrific form at the Impact Arena, having only lost only twice in 14 home games so far, winning eleven, and they also have a two-match surfeit of home games having played sixteen times on the road.
The win at Welling last weekend was sealed by a debut goal from latest signing, experienced former Bury and Burton Albion striker Shaun Harrad.
It remains to be seen whether he is the last new face into the club before the end of the January transfer window on Friday night.
The Reds go into this Saturday's home clash against Hyde seeking a third league double of the season having already won 2-1 on Tameside back on November 23.
