Alfreton Town are pleased to announce the signing of forward Brody Robertson from Cleethorpes Town.

Brody has signed a one year deal with the Reds and becomes John McDermott's fourth summer signing.

Robertson was prolific in the Northern Counties East League firing 30 goals in 43 appearances for Cleethorpes last season to help Town win promotion to the Evo Stik Division One South, Cleethorpes added the Lincolnshire County senior Trophy to their cabinet also beating Deeping Rangers 1-0 in the final.

An FA Vase final appearance followed but a 4-0 loss at Wembley saw the Owls miss out but completed a fantastic achievement in a memorable season.

Reds Boss John McDermott was happy to get his man after watching Brody develop throughout his career. He spoke to PO Amar Sharma:

“I’m ecstatic to secure Brody’s services for next season, I have known him since he was a youngster, he came through the Grimsby academy and I worked with him for three years.”

“He is a natural goal scorer; he has excellent feet and thinks intelligently. He joined Cleethorpes and stood out there, he got 30 goals last season, was the NCEL top scorer also which was exceptional and was one of the main forces in driving the Cleethorpes team onwards last season. We are happy to have signed him.”

“He makes the step up to National League North level and he will get fitter and sharper and his awareness will improve. He’s a quick player, and it’s an attacking dimension we will thrive on. He does everything I want in a forward. A fox in the box and he is striving to test himself and I’m sure he will thrive, he can’t wait to get started."

“He is another breath of fresh air for us and he is versatile too. Can play off striker, can play number 9/10 so it’s a great option for us. The squad is shaping up and we have more to come.”
