CRISTOBAL NOVO GONZALVO FROM VIGO VISITS REDS
THERE are not many clubs who can boast a supporters' club in Spain, but Alfreton Town can.
Albeit only one person - at the moment - Christobal Novo Gonzalvo from Vigo in Spain has been a regular on the Alfreton Town FC forum and a group of loyal Reds fans have taken him to their heart.
Christo flew in to Manchester last Friday and made his way down to Alfreton for Saturday's Blue Square Bet Premier Division game against Kettering Town.
He was met by a group of Reds fans who looked after him well. On match day the club welcomed him early and he was given a behind the scenes tour where he met manager Nicky Law and had photographs taken with the players in the dressing room.
He also went out onto the pitch with other players and fans for a presentation from the club of a fully signed players' shirt bearing striker Chris Senior's name.
All in all, it was a memorable trip for the latest addition to the Alfreton Town FC Supporters' Club.
At half-time during the Kettering game, Alfreton Town FC were also presented with a sponsorship cheque for £2,500 by lady mayoress Marlene Bennett on behalf of Alfreton Town Council.
