UNIQUE POPPY KIT DESIGNED AND KINDLY PROVIDED BY UN1TUS

Alfreton Town FC to wear unique Remembrance Day kits
UN1TUS custom crafting a special red poppy design

THE red poppy stands as a symbol of reverence and respect and the image most associated with Remembrance Day.
In tribute to the noble history of Remembrance Day, Alfreton Town Football Club  official kit supplier UN1TUS has custom crafted a special red poppy kit.
According to the BBC, “The significance of the poppy as a lasting memorial symbol to the fallen was realised by the Canadian surgeon John McCrae in his poem In Flanders Fields. The poppy came to represent the immeasurable sacrifice made by his comrades and quickly became a lasting memorial to those who died in World War One and later conflicts.”
Alfreton Town FC will unveil the special red poppy kit on Saturday, November 14 for the away Vanarama National League North fixture at Harrogate Town.
The club will then return home and wear the red poppy tribute on November 21 for the home league game against Boston United.
ATFC Chairman Wayne Bradley says it is with immense honour and pride that the football club has the opportunity to show it’s colours and be a part of a focus that is so dear to my heart.
“On the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we remember soldiers died, so that nations of people could live. On the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we honour those who fought in the World War One, Two and other conflicts.
“In the National League North division fixtures of the fourteenth to the twenty first day of the eleventh month, Alfreton Town FC will, in remembrance, wear the memorial flower (the poppy) designed within its playing kit,” Bradley said.
“The kit, provided at zero cost to ATFC by it’s kit partner UN1TUS, will be worn by its players with extreme pride, honour, respect and in remembrance of those to whom we all owe so much.”
Auction
After the fixtures have been played, the playing kit will be auctioned, providing all with the opportunity to gain their aspect of this unique kit.
All of the financial proceeds will be donated to the Royal British Legion to help the charity with their aim of assisting modern veterans, service men, women and their families.
UN1TUS joined the ATFC family this year as the official kit supplier. The groundbreaking company designs and crafts its custom kits from beginning to end at its manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Ohio USA.
By utilising in-house creation rather than outsourced stock kits, UN1TUS is capable of fashioning specialised kits such as the red poppy Remembrance Day tribute.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity to participate in this important memorial to those who have made the supreme sacrifice in order to protect democracy and freedom,” saidTrip Roney, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at UN1TUS.
“The freedoms that we enjoy today are the direct result of these sacrifices and UN1TUS is grateful to have been asked to create a kit that can, if even in a small way, pay homage to those brave and selfless individuals being honoured on Remembrance Day in the UK.
‘To you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high.’
“Perhaps our Remembrance Day partnership with Alfreton Town FC represents a group of people coming together to carry that torch and hold it high to honour the fallen.”
ATFC American investor Michael Hitchcock added: “In getting to know Wayne (Bradley) the last year, he has taught me about the historical significance of Remembrance Day among our English brothers. We have a similar day, Memorial Day, in the States. So I am honoured to see our boys pay tribute to the heroes of the past with the unique red poppy kit.”
