PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
Alfreton Town Football Club are quite literally giving the shirts off their backs to benefit the Royal British Legion.
In tribute to the noble history of Remembrance Day, The Reds' official kit supplier UN1TUS has custom crafted a special red poppy kit.
The kit will be worn again this Saturday at Harrogate and then for a final time on November 21 at home against Boston United.
The club will then auction off the game worn shirts to benefit the Royal British Legion.
Supporters can also purchase the replica poppy kits for a limited time from the ATFC online Merchandise Shop for £39.95 but only a limited supply was produced.
Alfreton Town Football Club chairman Wayne Bradley is hoping the venture can raise plenty of revenue for the charity.
He said:"It is the club's honour, to be in a position to raise finances, for the benefit of the Royal British Legion, in this unique way.
"We hope that both the local and national football community will respond to the auction and help to raise as much money has possible for the benefit of the charity."
The red poppy stands as a symbol of reverence and respect and the image most associated with Remembrance Day.
Many clubs around England are wearing a single red poppy patch on their regular playing shirts.
However, because of the custom design capabilities of Alfreton's official supplier UN1TUS, the club enjoys the completely unique shirt covered in the red poppy image.
UN1TUS joined the Alfreton Town FC family this year as the official kit supplier.
The groundbreaking company designs and crafts its custom kits from beginning to end at its manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Ohio USA.
By utilising in-house creation rather than outsourced stock kits, UN1TUS is capable of fashioning specialised kits such as the red poppy Remembrance Day tribute.
Trip Roney UN1TUS’ Vice-President of Sales and Marketing said UN1TUS is honoured to participate in this important memorial.
“UN1TUS is grateful to have been asked to create a kit that can, if even in a small way, pay homage to those brave and selfless individuals being honored on Remembrance Day in the UK. ‘To you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high.’
"Perhaps our Remembrance Day partnership with Alfreton Town FC represents a group of people coming together to carry that torch and hold it high to honour the fallen.”
