REDS LOOKING FORWARD TO BEST ATTENDANCE OF SEASON
Wednesday Mar 16, 2016
Alfreton Town are looking forward to their biggest home attendance of the season this Saturday when FC United of Manchester visit the Impact Arena.
With the visitors expected to bring a huge travelling support, Saturday’s game will see segregation in place for the first time this season at the Impact Arena and away fans can access the stadium via the Alma Street turnstiles only.
Home fans should use the North Street entrances.
The game is certain to beat the attendance of 626 on January 2nd for the 1-0 home win over Tamworth and a great atmosphere is in prospect as the sides go head-to-head in the search for points for differing reasons.
Nicky Law’s side return home after two successive draws on the road but will be looking to get back to winning ways as they seek a first win in four league outings.
FC United will arrive in town buoyed by an excellent 2-1 win at league leaders Solihull Moors on Tuesday night and they will be looking to exact revenge after Alfreton recorded a 3-1 away win in the first ever game between the sides at Broadhurst Park back on February 13.
The midweek win lifted FC United six points above the relegation places and a win in Derbyshire would put them just four points behind Alfreton and take them a big step closer to retaining their hard-earned Vanarama National League North status.
Nicky Law’s side still have a mathematical chance of making the play-offs as they lie nine points behind fifth place with eight games to go and a win could lift them up to eighth dependent upon other results on the day.
It is the first of two successive home games for the Reds with Gloucester City visiting DE55 land on Easter Saturday (March 26th) before Alfreton travel to Gainsborough Trinity on Easter Monday.
Both games kick-off at 3pm.
ATFC Supporters’ Association official transport to the Gainsborough game will depart at 10.15am and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
