REDS LINE UP TWO MORE SIGNINGS
Wednesday Jun 18, 2014
Alfreton Town’s player recruitment process for the new Conference Premier Division season continues to gather mometum.
So far, manager Nicky Law has brought in Nathan Hicks and Duane Courtney as well as agreeing a new two-year deal with Bradley Wood.
Now, the Reds have pre-contracted two as yet un-named players, but insist they won’t be announcing them as Alfreton players for a fortnight as they are still registered with their current clubs.
It is a policy which has served the Red extremely well over the years and chairman Wayne Bradley insists he has no reason to shy away from that trend.
“A lot of players are tied up until July 1 as most contracts don’t expire until June 30. There are different policies at different clubs but we feel it is only right that we don’t announce newcomers until they have actually signed and registered (with the league)” explained Bradley.
“We are still extremely busy negotiating and recruiting and we are likely to have three or four more of these type of signings by the time we get to July.
"I repeat what I said a few weeks ago that it is all about patience and faith from all concerned.
“The average punter can get puzzled very easily with some clubs saying they have ‘signed’ players when they can’t actually register them until July 1st” ended Bradley.
