REDS CHAIRMAN IN CONFIDENT MOOD
Wednesday Jun 12, 2013
Alfreton Town chairman Wayne Bradley is in a confident and positive mood as the Reds build towards a third consecutive season at Conference Premier Division level.
Manager Nicky Law has already brought in highly-rated former Grimsby Town right-back Bradley Wood and despite the club returning to part-time status, Reds supremo Bradley is firmly looking to build on last season's excellent 13th placed finish in the division.
He also feels that if the majority of the club's player targets are achieved, there will be an even better squad in place for the challenges of the new season.
"We will be making an as yet unnamed signing later this week, and possibly another one. We are busy and optimistic that the targets we have made will bear fruit and sign for us and potentially, some of the targets are better players than we had last season" said Bradley.
"Our aim is to assemble a side that is better than that of last year and I believe we will achieve that as I feel the new players that will come into the club will improve us."
Bradley feels the club are quietly getting on with their business and is not worried despite pre-season training getting under way in three weeks' time.
"We are optimistic, we are talking to a lot of targets and getting closer to the point where decisions are going to be made both ways.
"All the chat we are having is positive, negotiations are coming along and I am optimistic that some of the adventurous targets we are looking to land are being nurtured in our favour.
"We do not need to panic. We are keeping our powder dry but we are comfortable that there are players available who will improve us.
"We will also have a good look at several trialists and we will use pre-season for exactly what it is, for building and bonding for the new season."
Meanwhile, Alfreton Town fans have less than three weeks to claim a discounted Early Bird Season Ticket for the 2013/2014 season.
The deadline for discounted tickets is June 30 and until then, they are priced at £289 for adults, £194 for concessions, £150 for a ten-match ticket, with concessions paying £100 for the ten-match option.
After the June 30 deadline, tickets increase to £310 for adults, £206 for concessions and £160 for a ten-match ticket, £110 for ten-match concessions.
Fans paying £18 individually for each game would pay a total of £414 for 23 league games. If they purchase a season ticket at the discounted price of £289, that works out at just £12.56 per game.
After the early bird deadline, the price per individual game would work out at only £13.47 for an adult.
Season tickets, ten-match tickets and Junior Reds applications can be ordered and paid for by credit card by contacting Lisa Towerzey on 01159 392090 extension 107 between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
