Reds bring in Ricky German on months loan

Friday Aug 25, 2017

Alfreton Town can confirm the signing of striker Ricardo German on a month's loan from Chesterfield.

More commonly known as Ricky German, he started his career in the Chesterfield Academy; making his senior team debut in September 2016 against Northampton Town, being subbed on after 89 minutes. He eventually signed his first professional contract in October 2016.

Ricky has made ten appearances for the Spireites, including one start.

Reds Boss John McDermott spoke to Amar Sharma:

"It's a great deal for both parties, Ricky needs testing and it's a tough division, one of the hardest. He's been involved in the Chesterfield first team at a young age and he did well under Danny Wilson."

"He's scored goals for the youth team and reserves and he needs progression now. He's a pacey lad, he's powerful, and he's a natural goal scorer and it's exactly what we needed."

"We need a bit more in attack, I want us to finish our chances. We create plenty of chances but we have lacked the killer touch. Ricky will add goals for us, gives us competition going forward and he will help us finish chances off, he will gain confidence and give the team confidence in being clincal in front of goal. We are delighted to have him."
