SAM JONES JOINS FROM HEANOR TOWN
Alfreton Town Football Club have announced a fourth signing of the closed season with Sam Jones, last season's top goalscorer at Heanor Town, joining the Reds on a one-year contract.
Described as a tough-tackling, no nonsense midfield player, Sam, 23, had an outstanding 2014/15 season with Heanor where he top-scored with seventeen goals and was named supporters' player of the year.
Reds boss Nicky Law sees Jones as a player who has bags of potential and one who he feels can do well at a higher level.
"He began at Leeds, got an injury and went out to Australia. He played a bit, came back and tried to kick-start his career again" said Law.
"He went to Retford United then on to Heanor Town where he did very well.He is another young lad who also fits our criteria this season, keen and with a point to prove. We can hopefully develop him and I feel he will become a positive player for us."
