Preview: Stockport County v Alfreton Town

Friday Aug 24, 2018

Alfreton Town head to Edgeley Park to face Stockport County tomorrow afternoon in the next test in the National League North, kick off is 3pm.

The Reds last fixture saw an impressive 3-1 win over Blyth Spartans last Saturday with Tom Denton grabbing a brace with Tom Platt adding a third.

It was the Reds second win of the season after a 2-1 win at York and a first win at home. Billy Heath's men put the Curzon Ashton defeat firmly behind them following the Blyth result and regained the momentum heading into the Stockport game. With chances once again in abundance for the Reds and another solid defensive performance, Alfreton will be looking to build once again on a victory and add another three points on Saturday.

Stockport head into the fixture sitting in 6th spot win two wins, two draws and a loss from the opening five fixtures. The Hatters have drawn their last two games after a 1-1 draw at Bradford (PA) last Saturday which was following a 1-1 draw at home to Guiseley the previous Tuesday.

Billy Heath looked ahead to Stockport following the Blyth win last Saturday, you can watch the Boss's thoughts here

The Boss is hopeful to have Martin Riley, Josh Clackstone and Bobby Johnson all back in contention with the Reds injury concerns clearing in the past week.
