Alfreton Town will be hunting for a third straight league win as we welcome relegation threatened Ashton United to the Impact Arena in the National League North, kick off is 3pm.

After a gritty and hard fought 1-0 win at Guiseley last Saturday, the Reds will be looking for a third straight league win for the first time since August when we went on a four game winning run which had propelled us to as a high as third in the league table.

Alfreton produced another superb performance away from home and extended an impressive record of scoring in every away league fixture this season with the current run now standing at 16 games. The performance would have once again delighted the Reds faithful who had been treated to a stunning 2-1 comeback win over league leaders Chorley the Saturday prior.

The deciding goal last Saturday came from a blistering counter attack which saw Danny O'Brien find an unmarked Jordan Sinnott at the far post for a simple header from a yard out. Alfreton then survived wave after wave of late pressure in the second half which included long throws, corners and desperate crosses into the box.

It was a resolute display full of determination with the clean sheet as impressive as the result and Alfreton will be looking to continue the momentum with the visit of Ashton on Saturday.

We head into the fixture looking for a third league win in a row and a fourth win in a row in all competitions.

Home form needs improvement with Saturday potentially being the perfect time to change home form around with the Reds recording just one win (Chorley 2-1) in their last eight home league games, despite this stat it is just two defeats in the last six at the Impact Arena.

Ashton arrive to us sitting in the final relegation spot of 20th with 30 points from 32 games, ten points and five places below us.

The Robins current playing record stands at: P32, W8, D6, L18.

United lost in mid-week 0-1 at home to Kidderminster with Kiddy's goal coming just after the hour mark. It was a sucker punch to momentum for the Robins who had beaten leaders Chorley away from home last Saturday, a frustrating outing as the pressure mounts with ten games go and the gap to safety still a tantalising three points.

Ashton have won just one of their last five league games and are in decent away form having won two of their last three away league trips.

Reds Team News:

The Reds will be without Reece Styche who serves the last game of his suspension but are hopeful of an inclusion for Danny Clarke who missed the trip to Guiseley with a dead leg.
