POPPY KIT THE REAL WINNER

Alfreton Town slipped to a 2-0 Vanarama National League North defeat at Nuneaton Town, two second half goals giving the hosts the points and a win which put them top of the table.

With Armistice Day fast approaching, the Reds wore their fantastic UN1TUS-created specially designed Poppy kit for the first time in remembrance of the fallen.

Shane Byrne opened the scoring for Nuneaton on 47 minutes with  Aaron Williams adding the second on 75.

The defeat means Nicky Law's side have now gone five games without a win in the league.
