NUNEATON TOWN 0, ALFRETON TOWN 1

Saturday Dec 6, 2014

Alfreton Town gave their Vanarama Conference survival hopes a massive shot in the arm with a six-pointer victory at Nuneaton Town on Saturday.

It was a first win in six league games and lifted the Reds up one place and to within three points of safety with the only goal of the game coming from the penalty spot on 15 minutes, Bradley Wood (pictured) firing home his first league goal of the season after former Red Connor Franklin had brought John Johnston down.

A fifth clean sheet in the league was more than welcome as the Reds ended a four-game losing run as they gained their first league 'double' of the campaign having beaten Boro' 1-0 at the Impact Arena in September.
