IN their last away game of the 2011/2012 Blue Square Bet Premier Division season, Alfreton Town fell to a 1-0 goal defeat at Newport County who ensured their survival with the single-goal win from a scrappy encounter.

The only goal of the game came on 38 minutes with Romone Rose calmly finishing after getting onto the end of a Sam Foley cross.

Newport's victory relegated Hayes & Yeading United.

The attendance was 1,239 with 85 travelling from Alfreton and Anton Brown was named the Reds man of the match.

The Reds close the season on Saturday, April 28th when Bath City are the visitors to the Impact Arena.
Supporters should note, this game kicks-off at the earlier time of 1pm in line with the rest of the Blue Square Bet Premier Division fixtures.
