The Boss reflects on the 2-1 win over Tamworth and previews Salford City

Reds Boss Chris Moyses reflects on the 2-1 win over Tamworth last weekend and previews the visit of Salford City tomorrow.

Alfreton made it three wins in the last four league games since Moyses took charge, Brendon Daniels and Craig Westcarr were both on target as the Reds continued their excellent form with another three points last Saturday.

The Gaffer said:

"It was a tough game against Tamworth last weekend, the conditions didn't make it easy, it didn't make it easy to play free flowing football but I was absolutely delighted with the lads and how we dug out a win last week and I felt we deserved it."

"Credit to Tamworth who after being sent down to ten men really put a shift in and they made it really difficult for us but we moved the ball about well, we moved it from side to side to create the openings and we did do and it was really pleasing."

The win over Tamworth lifted the Reds to 13th, five points clear of the relegation zone:

"I've always said our focus was each game as it comes, one game at a time but we definately felt we needed a result out of the game last weekend and we got it. The lads have worked so hard since we came in and they are getting the rewards of that hard work, the job isn't done of course, we need to keep going and keep this good run of form going but the result last weekend was important to pull us away from danger."

On Brendon Daniels injury which forced him off in the second half:

"He had a little bit of a kick in the second half that was all, he had ice on it after the game and teh postponment of the Ilkeston game helped for him, he should be fit and ready. It was a great free kick from Brendon to get us level and that's what he does and he lifted us in that moment, lifted our fans and it gave us the urgency we needed then to kick on."

On new signing Edward Wagner:

"We had been asked to have a look at him, the lad has played in the lower leagues in America and has came over here looking for a club. We had a look at him and we liked his mobility, he is commanding in the air and loves to head the ball. He reads the game well and we were impressed. He provides us with another option in defence and he will be available tomorrow."

On the Reds form heading into tomorrow's game against Salford City:

"We head into the game in good form, we've won three of the last four so we are in a good place at this moment. We need to be right at it and we will be. The lads are growing together, getting fitter and working really hard in training, they have been a joy to work with so far and they have all bought into the aims and what we want to achieve here."

"We are confident and we will be looking to carry on our run and our form. We know it will be difficult, Salford have done excellently this season and are top for a reason, they have had a little bit of a wobble recently and they will be looking to get the win but so will we. It's a game both sides want to win and we will make it difficult for them, as they will for us."

"But we are excited for the game and the lads are raring to go and eager to keep the run going."

Alfreton Town v Salford City kicks off at 3pm tomorrow, the game will be segregated.
