MACCLESFIELD TOWN v ALFRETON TOWN

Friday Oct 5, 2012

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6th, 3pm

Saturday, October 6th, 2012
Blue Square Bet Premier Division
Macclesfield Town v Alfreton Town
at Moss Rose, 3pm

Alfreton Town head to the Moss  Rose on Saturday for the first time since the 2004/05 season when they went down 2-0 in an FA Cup first round replay against Macclesfield Town after a 1-1 draw at the Impact Arena in the first game.
There has only been one other trip to Cheshire to face Macc before and that was also in the FA Cup way back in the 1966/67 season when Alfreton lost 2-1 in a first qualifying round tie.
This weekend's fixture is in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division where Nicky Law's side face the Silkmen for the first time ever in league action and the Reds will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to six games.
The Reds are also unbeaten in their last three games on the road but will be going in search of a first league win in four games after three successive 1-1 draws.
Manager Nicky Law adds latest signing, on-loan central defender Ross Killock from Leeds United to his squad but he will be without both Adam Quinn and Anton Brown through injury.
Under new manager Steve King who was appointed in the summer, Macclesfield have had a decent start to the campaign but, having led the table early doors, are now sitting in eighth place with 19 points from 11 games.
Twelve of those points have come from home wins against Wrexham (2-0), Dartford (2-0), Barrow (2-0) and Braintree Town (2-1).
However, they also go into Saturday's game looking for a first league win in four games after a draw and two defeats in their last three games.
The first defeat was their one and only reverse at home so far, 2-1 against forest Green Rovers a fortnight ago.
In their last outing, Macc went down 3-0 at rejuvenated Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday.
