Reds Boss John McDermott looks ahead to the visit of Harrogate Town tomorrow.

Reds Boss John McDermott gives his assessment after the Reds 3-2 win at Tamworth on Saturday and looks ahead to the visit of league leaders Harrogate Town tomorrow.

The Reds ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions after a Brody Robertson brace and a late Craig Westcarr winner. The result lifted the Reds to 12th and back into the mix.

Macca spoke with Amar:

"It was a tough game last weekend but I was delighted with the result and the three points and it stopped the mini run of defeats in the league and we are three points off the play offs now. Tamworth was a difficult place to come, they had a good home record and were sitting just outside the play offs, they had a good surface and were a strong side."

"But we set up well, we tweaked things to get the right players in the right areas and we had heaps more energy and sharpness in us, we were excellent. I was delighted for the lads."

On Brody Robertson:

"He was a menace for them and we said before the game that we could see him getting a brace, on the surface Tamworth had, he would thrive and be a pain for them to deal with and he proved that. They took the defender off also, which showed that Brody had him in his back pocket."

"He just needs to believe himself and I said to him I know what he's capable of and we have had a run in terms of selecting strikers for a run of games, they have all had a run and Brody I wanted to give him a run and he took his chances, he's come to the club to do well and do his job well, same with the rest of the squad. It's just about consistency again for us, doing what we do week in and week out, we need to keep going."

On the difficult run of games coming up for the Reds:

"It was a confidence boosting win for us, especially with the likes of Harrogate coming tomorrow and Salford coming up. But i've said before this league is crazy, you can't take anything for granted with any team, all you have to do is beat what's in front of you."

"There's been a lot of questions asked about these lads in the last two weeks, are they just in it for themselves, do they want to play for the club, do they wanna play for me; Saturday was your answer. They gave a gritty performance and we are back up there and above a lot of big teams."

"It's a big chance for us, we know that one of the teams (Harrogate and Salford) will be in that top five, so it's a good chance for us to show what we can do and try and push higher up the table to get that fear factor when it comes to our next opposition that come up against us."

On the connection between the fans and the players:

"It was a good moment, the players appreciate the support, our fans are magnificent home and away, they travelled on Saturday and we delivered a performance for them but we need to keep it going. If we under-achieve they have a right to moan, but Saturday the lads delivered and the fans went home happy, like we all did."

On Tom Platt coming off in the first half:

"It was his ankle, it was a terrible foul and he has rolled his ankle. We'll have to see how he is but we are hoping it isn't too long term."

On the visit of the league leaders Harrogate Town tomorrow:

"It's a great game for us tomorrow, Harrogate sit top and it's a good chance for us to see where we are. They have had great investment and they are top and they have deserved it. They are a excellent full time club with lots of quality players and we have to give credit to the job they have done so far, not just the players but the staff as well."

"It will be a tough game, they are the league leaders but we are relishing coming up against them, it will be a game where both sides have quality players and we are good friends off the pitch also, it will be good to see some familar faces again."

"We are confident, we have made a reasonable start to the season, we have brought in quality players and we will have renewed confidence after our win at Tamworth which has got us right back in the mix. I was happy for the lads that we bounced back and it's about applying it into the next game now."

"It will be a great game, two sides that play good football, they will want to stay top and we will want to get a big result and keep pushing. We are excited for the game."

Alfreton v Harrogate kicks off at 3pm tomorrow.
