Blue Square Bet Premier Division
Luton Town v Alfreton Town
By Tom Lawler and Kev Miles
ALFRETON Town travel to Kenilworth Road this weekend to face a tough game against promotion hopefuls Luton Town.
The Reds picked up a fantastic 3-0 victory over Bath City mid-week which lifted them outside the Blue Square Bet Premier relegation-zone for the first time this season.
Nicky Law's side are now full of confidence and believe they can survive in the Conference Premier, as they face a Luton Town side who have already played twice during the week.
Alfreton Town will be missing central defender Adam Quinn and striker Louis Moult who serve suspensions, whilst goalkeeper Joe Day is still recovering from a groin strain picked up three weeks ago.
The Hatters currently sit third in the Blue Square Premier and are unbeaten in eight league games, with 14 points from a possible 18, and to compound how difficult a task it is going to be for Nicky Law's men, Luton will be aiming for a seventh successive clean sheet at Kenilworth Road.
A win for Gary Brabin's side will still keep them third as they look to keep the pressure on Fleetwood Town who sit top of the table.
Law's side will be after all three points for different reasons as they now bid to climb away from the relegation-zone having picked up eight points in their last six league games.
Whilst it is a first ever league encounter between the sides, Alfreton and Luton have crossed paths once before with the Reds recording a fine 3-0 home success in a pre-season friendly at the Impact Arena on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
The sides that day were:
ALFRETON TOWN: Gamble; Law, Shaw (Cory Bowler 80), Flint, M. Wilson (Stride h/t), McFadzean,
Arnold (C.Hall 63), Brown (Ross 62), A.Wilson (Clayton h/t), Hearn (J.Hall 63), Howell (Moult 62). Other sub: Ross Turner.
