LUTON TO PROVIDE A MAJOR TEST

LUTON TO PROVIDE A MAJOR TEST

Tuesday Dec 3, 2013

Alfreton Town face a major test of their credentials this Saturday when in-form Luton Town visit the Impact Arena in Skrill Premier action.
The title-chasing Hatters have the best away form of any team in the division, have only lost twice in the league all season and have put together a tremendous run of late to climb into second place in the table.
They also boast the best form of any team in the division over the last six league games so a tough clash is in prospect, particularly as they have only lost once in their last seventeen games in all competitions.
However, Nicky Law's side have already shown that they are very capable of putting in the big performances when required this season with several  notable wins being achieved at home against sides in the top half of the table.
Alfreton fans will be hoping for a repeat of last season's home clash with the Hatters which resulted in a stunning 3-0 win for the Reds in front of 1,392 and, with Luton absolutely flying, this season's best home attendance should easily be beaten.
Alfreton boss Nicky Law will be looking for his side to bounce back from back-to-back defeats against Nuneaton Town in both the league and FA Trophy last week and he will be hoping that top scorer Job Ayo Akinde's return will provide the spark for his side to kick on.
Law will be without son Josh who looks set for a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury picked up in the Trophy defeat last weekend whilst central defender Nick Fenton is still out with a calf injury. Law will also be without the services of left-back Lathaniel Rowe-Turner who sits the game out as part of the stipulation of his loan period with the Reds from parent club Luton.

Senior Cup
Next Tuesday, Alfreton get this season's Derbyshire Senior Cup campaign up and running with a home tie against Northern Counties (East) League Premier Division side Heanor Town.
There is reduced admission of £8 for adults and £4 for concessions for this game which kicks-off at 7.45pm.
