Alfreton Town fell to a 3-2 Boxing Day Vanarama Conference defeat at Lincoln City in a game which was marred by a first half injury to Reds goalkeeper George Willis.
Lincoln took the lead on six minutes when Hamza Bencherif headed home a Sean Newton free-kick.
There was a delay of over six minutes for treatment for a head injury to George Willis (pictured) after he was caught by a challenge from Delano Sam-Yorke who received a yellow card. Willis was thankfully able to continue after having his head bandaged.
Alfreton equalised on 57 minutes when Karl Hawley headed home a John Johnston cross but parity only lasted for thirteen minutes when former Red Ben Tomlinson, on as a substitute, fired home from twelve yards after a City corner was not cleared.
Three minutes later on 73 it was 3-1 to the hosts as Marcus Marshall smashed home a 30 yarder after another home corner was not cleared.
The Reds reduced the arrears in the second minute of four of added time through Dan Bradley who fired home a 25 yarder.
Alfreton are ext scheduled to be in action on Sunday, December 28th when relegation rivals Dartford will be the visitors to the Impact Arena for a game which kicks-off at 3pm.
