LAW: WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Wednesday Sep 24, 2014
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law feels his side are on the right track after seeing them pick up ten of the last twelve Vanarama Conference points available.
“We have just seen how important the last four games have been, we have drawn one and won three” reflected Law.
“We have pushed ourselves out of that little drop zone and we have just got to continue to do that. We go to Dover this weekend which will be another tough game, but we have got it in us.
“I didn’t see the first six games, but we couldn’t have performed like we have done in the five that I have been back since.
“I have said to the lads: ‘Surely we have not played with that kind of endeavour and commitment otherwise we would have more points on the table, but that’s done and that’s dusted.
“I work on the basis of a point a game and maybe three (extra) wins will keep you in the league and all of a sudden from the doom and gloom of zero points we are now ten out of eleven games and a point behind schedule
“We go and win this weekend and we are a point in front of schedule and that is how in a short space of time we can turn our season around.
“It would be unfair for me to say since I have returned that our season has turned around, but sometimes, we all know, that whilst the cat’s away the mice will play, maybe.
“I wouldn’t like to think it is was that, I really wouldn’t, because then I would be questioning the commitment of the players, but then in the five games I have witnessed, their commitment has been faultless.”
This Saturday, the Reds make a long trip south to take on Dover Athletic. ATFC Supporters' Association transport will depart at 7.30am for this game and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
