LAW: FINAL THIRD LET US DOWN
Sunday Dec 1, 2013
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law felt his side fell down in the last third during Saturday's 1-0 FA Troph home defeat against Nuneaton Town.
"When it's got to the final third we have been lacking" said Law.
"We are going to have to do better than we have in the last two games but again (there are) fine lines in football.
"As much as I say it, you can get teams that you consider to be average teams but they have got that little spark and that outlet and at the minute I don't think we have got that.
"We asked for a reaction from Tuesday and I think we got that. I think we were always in control of the game, now whether we had enough then to just be in control of it and I think we were ahead of them, it was whether we were going to score.
"We needed to score and if I am honest I don't think we looked like we were going to.
"We said at half time that we have got to go out and keep doing what we were doing, keep plugging away and be patient, we haven't got to try and force it and we just wait.
"Unfortunately, the referee has given a foul that never was (and) we were disappointed in the nature of the way we conceded the goal.
"Again, if I am honest, once we had gone one down, I couldn't see us scoring one let alone two. It was always going to be a tough call when we went 1-0 down."
