Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law said he was delighted with his squad's discipline and performance in their 3-1 win over Edgar Davids' Barnet.

The Reds are yet to lose a game at home this season and they extended their current unbeaten run to four games with the win, moving up to third in the Skrill Premier.

"Against a very, very good side we’ve come out on top and I think we were dominant up until the point that they scored," said Law after the game.

"Barnet came and knocked the ball about very well, they’ve got some very, very good football players and we knew that if we got involved in trying to have a passing game with them that we may be in trouble.

"We came out and set about them early doors, we had good movement and we had to be disciplined and keep our shape, and I thought we were.

"I think we took a deserved a lead and probably if we had come in two or three up at half time it could have been slightly easier for us, we missed a couple of opportunities but on the positive side at least we were there to miss them."

Law was also happy with his side's response to Barnet's equaliser, a superb finish from Keanu Marsh-Brown which came just after the halftime break.

"We spoke at halftime about keeping our discipline and keeping our shape and not letting them dislodge us, and credit to the players they didn’t," said the Reds boss.

"If I’m honest I think we should have a had a freekick just outside their penalty area and the referee has either not seen it or deemed it not to be a foul, played on and it’s a great finish from their lad.

"They’ve probably scored against the run of play and as I say it was a good goal to be fair, we can criticise our players but it’s a great finish, and when that comes you wonder ‘which way is this going to go?’

"You can go one way, either think ‘here we go again’ and crumble or stick your chest out and go again, our lads have done the second one and we’ve gone in front again.

"We've ground it out and got the second and third, and if I’m honest we possibly could have had another couple through another couple of good chances.

"Credit to the players, they’re a great bunch and they don’t know when they’re beat, and they’ve deservedly won that game again today.

"I can’t fault the lads or their performance, discipline or commitment."
