LAW TAKES THE POSITIVES OUT OF STOCKPORT GAME

Sunday Aug 12, 2012

Reflecting on Saturday's 1-0 opening game defeat at Stockport County, Reds boss Nicky Law was 'disappointed to have lost'.

He said: "First 20 minutes we should have been 3-0 up but we've gone in a goal down. They've had one cross into our box and scored. We dominated the first 20 minutes, but if you're not going to hit the target from five or six yards with free headers you are not going to win

"We have to be ruthless in both boxes and we should have got something out of this.

"We're better than we were at the start of last season, but I've still got players that I want to move on to free up their money and there are areas where we can do better."

Reflecting on his keeper's performance he said: "Barnes made some very good saves and both keepers did what they are paid to do. At the end of the day we have to take the positives out of the game."
