AS REDS RECORD BEST EVER AWAY WIN IN FA TROPHY
Reflecting after Alfreton Town's best ever away win in the FA Trophy, manager Nicky Law was pleased with the reaction he got from his players in overcoming a potential banana skin in a convincing manner.
He said: "It was a good win - a tough place to come - we didn't have ideal preparation coming down on the morning of the game - left at half eight and got here at half one.
"But fair play to them - the lads had every excuse but they've gone out and won comfortably.
"The second half was slightly disappointing, but the game was over and they've come out 5-0 down and had a good go at us and tested us and we were a bit sloppy maybe but all in all a good day.
Asked about latest signing Louis Moult, the Reds manager said: "He showed what we brought him in for. He's got good movement, a nice touch and he appreciates the game and hopefully he'll come in and make us better."
The 6-0 win was Alfreton's best ever win in the FA Trophy, their previous best win coming way back in the 1970/71 season when they recorded a 5-0 success at Gresley Rovers in a first qualifying round tie.
