LAW PLEASED WITH PROGRESS

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law feels his squad are progressing nicely with just a fortnight to go to the start of the season.
The Reds boss spoke after a 2-0 home defeat on Saturday, a result which was perhaps somewhat harsh on Alfreton who put in their best performance of pre-season so far.
"We came in at half-time and just asked if we could believe in ourselves a little bit more and get forward a bit more which I think we did" said Law.
"And when we did we looked a little bit more of a threat. It is getting players to believe in themselves a bit more.
"It is always tough against League clubs, you come up against good opposition and spend a lot of time trying to match them and work them out.
"You can't always take the game the other way but obviously when the season starts, with all due respect, we are not going to be playing against this calibre of opposition.
"I am disappointed to have come in 1-0 down at half-time. We have got done on a set-play, a free header from a corner, so you accept that one. Nick Fenton knows he has lost his man but I think that's about the only header he has lost all game."
"We come out second half and I think it is a pretty even game. The second one [goal] is fortunate, it is a cross and has gone over the goalkeeper and gone in the only place it could have done. I am not looking into that one, it is just totally fortuitous.
"Overall, I am pleased again. It is another game under the belt, the fitness levels have gone up a little bit and we are coming together."
Law explained that the style of play is changing for this season.
"When we get it down and pass and move and movement off the ball we are good, but that's what I am saying, I am trying to instil that into the players, to believe in themselves and trust themselves more and do that.
"Believe me, it's not easy, it is hard work to play that way. But, rather than try to contain teams, I want to try and give teams problems to worry about us rather than the other way around.
"It will come, I feel we are getting better all the time, and it's another positive performance" ended Law.
