REDS BOSS PRAISES NYONI AND JACKSON
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law was in buoyant mood after seeing his side extend their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions with a 2-0 league victory at Curzon Ashton on Monday night.
“It was a hard fought win in difficult conditions and I thought we deserved it” reflected the Reds boss.
“But it could have been oh so much better had we taken more than a point on Saturday. That was nothing to do with Nuneaton though. It was taken out of our hands by the official but we made up for it at Curzon. I am really pleased with the win.”
Law also had praise for latest signing Cecil Nyoni who has had to wait patiently for his debut since signing on January 22nd, and striker Jamie Jackson who put in a man of the match performance and netted the second goal.
“Cecil was excellent, everything I hoped he would be. He came and did everything we wanted him to do. He was big, strong and kept it simple, just what we wanted” said Law.
“Jamie did really well. I know what he can do. Unfortunately, for some reason he is a really good impact substitute. We have spoken about it on many occasions with him and how he has got to do it from the start of games and he did just that. He is more than capable but he has now got to produce that sort of form on a more regular basis" ended Law.
This Saturday Alfreton travel to take on Worcester City at their shared home at Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough ground.
Lindon Meikle and Dan Bradley, who both suffered minor knocks at Curzon, are expected to be fit for the Worcester game.
ATFC Supporters’ Association transport to the Worcester game departs at 9.30am and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
