WE ARE NOT GOING TO GO AWAY
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law heaped praise on his players after seeing them record a third straight league victory from what has been a very difficult week.
The Reds boss informed his players that the club were being docked three points prior to last Tuesday’s home game against Hyde, and he has been delighted with the response.
“I said to the players that we have had the three points taken off. It is no fault of our own and they are the ones who have to take it on the chin and deal with it” he said.
“I can’t speak highly enough of the lads. Since they found out about the points deduction, they have won three league games in a row which just shows what character we have got in the squad.
“All the clubs around us will have been given a lift by the fact we have lost the points, and they are probably thinking ‘that’s the end of them’, but I can assure you it isn’t. We are not going to go away.
“If anything, we have just come back stronger. There is not much more we can do. We are still third in the league, even with the points coming off. We looking at another four wins out of eight games left to hopefully finish in the play-offs.
“We can’t do anything about it but keep doing what we are doing and keep putting points on the table.”
A shattering injury to central defender Michael Wylde who suffered a double fracture in the win at Chester last weekend , and worries over a couple of additional injuries from Tuesday’s win means that manager Law will once again have to go out and utilise the loan market.
“We are almost certainly going to have to dip into the loan market before Monday’s game to see if we can get two or three in” he said.
