Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law had no complaints after seeing his side fall to a narrow 1-0 home defeat against FC United of Manchester.

A best of the season crowd of 1,087 witnessed an uninspiring game between two mid-table sides with Alfreton unable to unlock the visiting defence.

"I can accept defeat. If I am honest, I don't have any complaints whatsoever" reflected the Reds boss.

"We started off the game first 15 minutes and I thought it was just going to be a matter of get that first goal, how many we would get and we didn't capitalise on that first 15-20 minutes.

"I think then they came into the game, they slowed it down, they knew they had to do that, they didn't want to get involved in a high tempo, fast game.

"Credit to them for doing that. And when they did that we struggled for the remaining 75 minutes. I thought we huffed and we puffed but we never looked like creating. We could have been out there until next Wednesday and I don't think we would have mustered up a chance, and that is disappointing.

"They denied us the space in behind and when we did that we needed people who could come and play to feet and make things happen but we didn't have that.

"I have just watched their centre forward from the first minute to the last minute, one striker up front on his own, get the ball in to feet, hold the ball up, not once in 90 minutes have we gone and played in front of him and stopped that ball.

"We have just not played with any thought today, we have not been good enough. We lacked a bit of end product, our final ball was poor and when we got into the top third we were sloppy with the ball.

"I want to go and win every game that we play in and I want the players to do that. I am disappointed today.

"Don't take anything away from FC (United), they have come here and deserved the win. We showed what we could do for 20 minutes and then for 70 we have done nothing and we haven't done enough" ended Law.
