LAW EXPECTS CLAYTON TO BATTLE FOR A SHIRT
Thursday Sep 29, 2011
In an article on the official BBC Football site, Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has explained his decision to leave striker Paul Clayton out of the side in the midweek defeat at AFC Telford United.
The article reads: "Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has said striker Paul Clayton needs to raise his game if he wants to win his place back in the starting line-up.
Clayton was left out of the side for the midweek defeat against AFC Telford.
And Law told BBC Radio Derby: "He was dropped because I don't think he's done anything. He has had 10 starts this season and not looked like scoring.
"When you are not scoring you have to show a good attitude and work hard and I don't think he's done that either."
Law, whose side have only won two of their 12 league games this season, added: "I'm not saying anything that I haven't said to him.
"Paul Clayton hasn't done it this year and that's why he was not in the team. Simple as."
