LAW DISAPPOINTMENT AT RESULT AND PERFORMANCE

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law was in sombre mood after seeing his side drop two crucial points to a late, late Corby Town equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Impact Arena on Saturday.
“I am disappointed with the result, disappointed with the performance” he reflected. “I thought were flat today, too sloppy in possession and we didn’t play at the work rate we normally play at.
“Whether that’s a bit of complacency, I don’t know, but it just proves that if you are not at it you are not going to win a game of football against whatever opposition. With the utmost respect I don’t think they were the greatest opposition we have played of late but to be fair to them the ground it out and we gifted them a point.
Asked if the game was an unfair conclusion, Law said: “Not when you make mistakes like that. Sam Jones got good possession thirty yards from goal. Why he is trying a flick, I am not too sure, but then again, the thing has come 70 yards for them to score.
“It is a disappointing goal all round, one that we didn’t need to give away and it was as bad as we were. It was three points that we should have had but we haven’t and it’s two points dropped."
