Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law was disappointed with his team’s display during the goalless draw with Dartford at the Impact Arena on Tuesday evening.

“I am disappointed with the performance. We never reached the heights of the previous five games, but on the plus side we have got to be pleased with a clean sheet and a point and we move on” said Law.

“If I am honest, and I mean no disrespect to Dartford, but had it been a more confident side, they would possibly have knocked a couple past us tonight because we were not at it.

“We just seemed to be well off the pace. The two central defenders did well but apart from that we were sloppy all around. “Whether that is a lot of games in a short space of time, or maybe a bit of underestimation, I don’t know, but I would hope not because we knew the importance of the game.

“We were not at our best for sure. We have had a few chances but they missed a glorious one right at the end and Jason Mooney made a very good save from a chance that looked like that was it.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s home game against league leaders Barnet, Law commented: “We know it is going to be a different game on Saturday.

"The pressure is off us a bit now, no one going is expecting us to get anything from this one. “The thought that we are playing the league leaders, we know we are going to have to be far, far better than today to have any chance.

“That is not being critical, but we can’t perform like that against Barnet” ended Law.
