LAW BRINGS IN BODEN
Wednesday Jan 30, 2013
Alfreton Town have signed striker Scott Boden on loan from npower League Two neighbours Chesterfield until April 20th.
Boden, 23, joined the Spireites in the summer of 2008 after being released by Sheffield United.
He had a trial spell at Saltergate after playing for 1FK Mariehamn in Finland and impressed enough to win a couple of short-term deals before signing a year's contract and then a two-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2012.
He has mainly been used as a late substitute when his speed has brought about benefits, he is the club's all-time top scorer off the bench, continuing the trend last season.
He spent time on loan in October last season to Macclesfield Town to get more pitch time returning in December, scoring with his first touch off the bench on his reintroduction to the first-team
To date he has scored one goal in 11 appearances this season.
There is a 24-hour recall clause in the deal which comes into effect after 28 days.
Scott will wear squad number 15 during his stay at the Impact Arena.
Chesterfield FC have granted permission for Scott to play in the Derbyshire Senior Cup but not against themselves (which could be in the final!). He is not eligible for selection against Mickleover Royals next Tuesday as he was not signed in time for the registration date for the fourth round.
