KETTERING TOWN GIVEN A SUSPENDED SANCTION
Thursday Jan 19, 2012
The Football Conference have issued the following statement with regards to Kettering town Football Club:
KETTERING TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
PERSONAL HEARING REQUESTED BY CLUB
TO CONSIDER A CHARGE LEVIED BY THE FOOTBALL CONFERENCE FOR A BREACH OF RULE 11 FOR NON-PAYMENT OF FOOTBALL CREDITORS.
A Panel of Independent Members of the Football Conference Board met in London on Thursday 19 January 2012 to conduct a Personal Hearing requested by Kettering Town Football Club to consider an alleged breach of Rule 11 for failing to pay football creditors.
Kettering Town, on their own admission, pleaded guilty to failing to pay football creditors, as detailed in the charge levied on 25 November 2011; and further requested similar breaches be considered.
The Club was fined £3,000.00 for this breach and ordered to pay the fine before Tuesday 28 February 2012.
The Club was also deducted 3 points from its League Table score, but this part of the sanction is suspended until Tuesday 28 February 2012, at which point the deduction will not be imposed, if all known football creditors at that time have been settled in cleared funds. For clarity, if all known football creditors have not been settled in full, as required by 28 February 2012, three points will be deducted forthwith.
No award for costs was made and, as is customary, the Club will have 14 days from the date of written notification of this decision, to lodge an Appeal with the Football Association.
