JOHN HARRISON SUITE TO BE USED FOR EXTRA SPONSORS
Sunday Mar 18, 2012
DUE to the success of the ATFC commercial department raising new sponsorship deals, the club can no longer accommodate all the sponsorship guests in the current sponsorship lounge, as a result of which, they have had to move into the John Harrison Suite to house the additional guests.
This is an immediate move, beginning with the Mansfield Town home fixture on Tuesday, and means home supporters will unfortunately no longer be able to use the bar in the John Harrison Suite for the foreseeable future on home match days.
Alfreton Town Football Club Supporters' Association chairman Roger Webster explained: "Because of the terrific increase in the number of new sponsorship deals and the club's need to provide the sponsors and guests with a service and value the club want to promote to encourage future sponsorship, the club have taken the decision to use the John Harrison Suite bar for sponsorship activities.
"We hope our fans can understand this decision was certainly not taken lightly, but the club need to continue to go forward positively, look at it's successes and build on them.
"We are going to survive in this league which means we are going on in it, and we have to be forward-looking in building all of our revenue streams ane encouraging people to come to the club and have a good match day experience when they are putting in a valuable contribution.
"We know already from the way things have gone, that the value of using the John Harrison Suite bar for commercial use is above the takings of the bar, and therefore it makes commercial sense to take this action.
"We are however, mindful of our supporters and will be looking at ways of improving their accommodation and service in the Reds Bar and in plans to provide them with a replacement for the John Harrison Suite in the future."
