HAPPY TO BE A RED
Alfreton Town striker Joe Leesley jumped at the chance to sign for an extra season with the Reds when offered a new contract recently.
“I am happy to do so. It is brilliant. Nicky (Law) really gave me a chance I thought I would never get when I was playing in the lower leagues last season” said Joe.
“As soon as he said he was interested it was a no brainer. I would like to repay the loyalty to Nicky and am delighted to sign for a full season.
“It will be my first experience of Conference North football but I thought I had done well in the Premier Division last season and I am looking forward to testing myself at this level.”
Joe admits it was a tough season as the Reds were relegated last time out but thinks there is plenty of potential and talent in the new-look squad.
“Last year was a difficult one for the club, but hopefully we hit the ground running, get the points on the board and bounce straight back up really.
“My personal aim is to play regularly. I feel if I do, I can score goals and as a striker that’s what I am paid to do. I am quite an ambitious young lad and full time football is a dream for me. I just want to contribute towards helping the team and I know what I want to do to help the club go forward” ended Joe.
