JAKE AIMING TO REPAY MANAGEMENT'S FAITH

NEW TWO-YEAR CONTRACT

ALFRETON Town midfield player Jake Moult is looking to pay back the faith shown in him by the management team.
Moult has penned a new two-year full-time contract which will keep him at the Impact Arena until May 2013.
That he has been offered that deal shows how much belief manager Nicky Law has in the popular Reds midfield man who had to sit out a large chunk of the title-winning campaign last season.
The 22-year-old had begun the 2010/11 campaign like a train with five goals in the first few games before being sidelined by a nagging shin injury.
And, having eventually overcome the injury with rest, rest and more rest, Jake then suffered more frustration when he couldn't get back into a side which was in fantastic form.
He said: "The injury was a bit of a mystery. Some specialists said it was shin splints, some said bruising on the bone, but I never really got a proper diagnosis. The only cure appeared to be plenty of rest and I ended up sitting around out of the game for four months."Tthen, when I was fully over it and came back, I couldn't force my way into the side but I had no arguments because the team just kept winning.
"Nicky explained why I wasn't being picked but they stood by me when I wasn't getting in and now I want to pay back their faith in me."
Against Burton Albion on Tuesday evening, Jake put in an impressive shift in the second half and he is obviously relishing his football again.
He explained: "I enjoyed myself against Burton, apart from the result. I enjoyed getting the shirt on and playing again and I am now looking to getting started again.
"First of all we have to make sure we stop in the division and then we can hopefully push on."
Moult is also enjoying the club's move to day-time training.
He ended: "It is really nice to be training in the day instead of day at night. You tend to have other things on your mind when you are training at eight and nine at night, especially when you have a family."
Meanwhile, striker Anthony Wilson has signed a one-year extension to his existing contract which will also keep him at Alfreton until May 2013.
Wilson is currently experiencing what Jake Moult went through, being out of action at a crucial time. He has missed the first two pre-season games as he recovers from a minor operation on a knee injury.
This Saturday the Reds play their third pre-season game when they make the short journey to the New Manor Ground to take on the brand new Ilkeston FC. Kick-off is 3pm and supporters should note there is no official transport to this fixture.
Next Wednesday (July 27) Sheffield United are at the Impact Arena. This game kicks-off at 7.45pm.
